Fashion Faceoff: Vanessa Williams vs. Eva Longoria

It's fashion faceoff time! This week, we have a battle between two "Desperate Housewives" divas --Vanessa Williams and Eva Longoria -- who dared to don the same pleated organza Marchesa dress featuring a gold embroidered waist band 20 months apart! Question is ... who wore it better?

Back in September 2009, Eva stepped out in the white Marchesa creation at the Padres Contra El Cancer's 9th Annual El Sueno De Esperanza Benefit Gala in Hollywood. She paired the flirty frock with a sideswept 'do, gold peep-toe slingbacks, and pretty crystal quartz earrings by H. Stern.

This past May, Vanessa sported the strapless number to accept the 2011 Icon of Style Award from Syracuse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. (Think she borrowed the dress from Longoria?) The former beauty queen, who received her bachelor of fine arts degree from Syracuse in 2008 -- 25 years after she dropped out to become the first black Miss America -- completed her ensemble with studded platform sandals and hoop earrings.

This particular style battle is a tough one, as I'm not really a fan of this frothy frock, but since I must make a choice I have to go with ... Eva. While Vanessa is gorgeous and can usually pull off just about anything, this dress doesn't seem sophisticated enough for the 48-year-old actress -- especially at an event where she was being honored for being a style icon! And although Williams didn't necessarily over-accessorize, she definitely chose the wrong accessories. On the flip side, Eva realized the Marchesa frock already had a lot going on, so she made sure to keep her additions simple, which resulted in a lovely, feminine look. Do you agree?
