Competitive eating isn't considered a sport by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, but try telling that to Joey Chestnut.
After gorging on 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the Super Bowl of eating, Chestnut will spend the next few days helping his body recover from the effects of polishing off close to 20,000 calories -- an average woman's diet for 10 days.
Chestnut tells the San Jose Mercury News he will eat lightly at first, choosing yogurt to counter the acidic wieners.
"I'm in a weird lethargic state," the 27-year-old told the Mercury News, which noted how Chestnut stays at 218 pounds by jogging at least two times a week.
The newspaper reports that Chestnut drinks liquids and sits still in a cool room to reduce profuse sweating.
An online commercial taping is planned for later in the week, but Chestnut won't make a pig of himself, only "pretending" like he's eating for the cameras.
