Ceri Roberts writes: She’s only five days into her official tour of Canada, but the Duchess of Cambridge has already worked no fewer than NINE stunning outfits.
Yesterday she attended a ceremony at Province House in Charlottetown, wearing a nautical-style knitted dress by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
She’s obviously bang on the money style-wise because fashion icon Sarah Jessica Parker has been spotted wearing the navy version.
The day before, she slipped into a nude dress and jacket by Joseph for a tour of Quebec before changing into skinny jeans and a jacket for the Dragon Boat Race on Prince Edward Island.
On Sunday she chose to wear the Jaquenta dress by Canadian designer Erdem. The designer, who is based in London, won the first British Fashion Council/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Award in 2010 and is also a favourite of Michelle Obama and Samantha Cameron.
She accessorised the electric blue dress, which has lace detail around the neckline and shoulders, with a beige clutch and her trusty leg-lengthening flesh-tone shoes.
On Saturday night she boarded the HMCS Montreal wearing a fitted silver-grey Catherine Walker dress, which she also wore earlier in the day to a tree-planting ceremony in the grounds of Rideau Hall and a cooking workshop at the Institut De Tourisme et D’hotellerie Du Quebec.
She wore one of her favourite labels, Issa, for Canada Day’s Evening Show on Parliament Hill, Ottawa. She decorated the vibrant purple dress with a sparkling maple leaf brooch - the maple leaf appears on the Canadian flag - and teamed it with classic black pumps and a matching clutch.
Earlier in the day, Kate gave her white Nanette dress, by high street store Reiss, another airing. She added a striking red hat by Sylvia Fletcher for Lock and Company, a tasselled fan-shaped clutch by Anya Hindmarch and red shoes by Albini.
On Thursday, she kicked off the tour in a lace dress, again by Erdem, giving us a first look at the beige clutch she used again a few days later. On the same day she wore an Issa bird-print dress for an informal meeting for young Canadian volunteers at the official residence of the Governor General of Canada.
And while most of us travel in something comfy, Kate left the UK looking more like a member of cabin crew. Her navy Roland Mouret dress and jacket by Smythe might not be especially exciting, but we do like her new season Mulberry bag - it’s the Polly Push Lock tote and costs an eye-watering £895, in case you’re interested.
According to Grazia, Kate has borrowed clothes or bought some with a discount in order to put together a £40,000 wardrobe for her trip. And with three more days left in Canada before she heads to LA, we can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing next...
