The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will touch down in Ottawa this afternoon, the first stop in a nine-day visit to Canada where we'll all be paying extra close attention to her fashion choices.
Kate Middleton has clearly done her sartorial prep work for the tour, adding in some Can-Con to her Brit-centric wardrobe. Leaving from London's Heathrow airport this morning, the princess was photographed wearing a navy blazer with a nipped-in waist from Toronto label Smythe. She's reportedly also ordered a piece from ANDAM-nominated designer Jeremy Laing. The new duchess carried one of Mulberry's new Polly Push Lock bags with her on the plane.
Middleton's fashion choices gain worldwide notice and often spark a buying frenzy, especially with some of her accessibly-priced pieces. Smythe is already a popular label and Laing is a fashion world darling, but a Kate pick brings attention on a mass scale. (The Smythe jacket, on sale at Net-a-porter, has already sold out on the site and is in short supply on other online retailers.) We look forward to seeing what other Canadian fashion Middleton has packed in her trunk.
