The BET Awards kick off at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Sunday night, capping off what’s been a major digital campaign to drive awareness for the broadcast.
The show itself will also feature heavy social media integration, including plans to show viewer tweets and Facebook updates on-air, backstage live streaming video on BET.com and the giveaway of a Ford Focus to one person that tweets using a secret hashtag that will be revealed at the top of the broadcast.
We’re live at the “social media lounge” that BET has setup for the event, where Lala will be sharing highlights from the social media sphere — including updates from celebs in attendance — during the broadcast.
