Good for Gaga!
Donning a turquoise wig, Lady Gaga took part in MTV Music Video Aid Japan Show on Saurday in Chiba, Japan. Proceeds from the event, hosted by girl group AKB48, benefitted the Japanese Red Cross.
There were nine musical acts raising funds to help those affected by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. In addition to Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta), EXILE, Namie Amuro, Shinee and Girls' Generation performed for the cause.
"It's been so amazing to come over to Japan," Gaga toldUs Weekly. "I've been counting down the days. I'm always happy when I'm here. I always come back full of new ideas an inspiration."
"The recent events here really affected me, not just because I have so many fans in Japan, but because it's hard to watch a country struggle," she said. "But I can't let myself cry -- I have to be strong because [everyone in Japan] has been so strong. No one gave up for a second."
A special one-hour version of the show will air on MTV on July 29
