Motorola Releases Budget Smartphone Targeted At Teenagers

Motorola’s upcoming Wilder budget smartphone, targeted at teenagers, will be available from July for a sweet £49.95 from Carphone Warehouse.

The phone comes with a 2.8 inch touchscreen and just one physical home button. Motorola has included a small notification bar at the bottom of the screen which give connectivity and battery notifications among other things.

The Motorola Wilder comes with a 2MP camera with video recording capabilities as. However, the device runs on some obscure operating system and not Android, which seems a bit strange. Nonetheless, Motorola is offering a slew of pre-loaded apps that make it easier for users to share and stay connected, Know Your Mobile reports.

The budget smartphone comes with pre-loaded apps for Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, the Opera Mini web browser and a YouTube app. Motorola has also thrown in a couple of games including Tetris, Need for Speed, Game of Life and Soundhound.

However the phone does not come with 3G or Wi-Fi support, so customers shouldn't expect a user experience equivalent to a fully equipped smartphone.

Motorola has also thrown in a FM radio and MP3 player to the boot, offering an expandable memory of up to 32GB. It is not clear whether users will be able to install additional apps.
